Background

Bloodshot, part of PRS and the government's Project Bloodshot, is an unknown soldier without a name or memories. He is human with a nanite-based body,[1] which allows him to have complete control over his physiology, communicate with and control technology, shapeshift into other people, and regenerate from any wound.[2] To sustain himself and these nanites, he needs amino acids and proteins. If the need arises, he won't hesitate to eat human flesh in order to regain his strength.[3]

For many years, to control him, PRS installed a myriad of new memories and identities within him so he could work tirelessly for this organisation, however, much to their surprise, it failed for many years until they installed the current Ray Garrison persona within him.[4] However, Bloodshot realised this is a fake persona too, however, unlike before, he wants to live a life instead of contently fighting back and returning to square one.

Bloodshot was an emotionless and cold blooded killer PRS used to carry out missions no ordinary soldier would carry out, usually for the military. However, that was all a front as he was a Psiot child killer - killing them before they became a trouble for anyone - and the ultimate killer created to fight against Toyo Harada, perhaps the most power Psiot. Carrying out all these terrible missions made him a horrible person, but he is trying to be better and make up for all the terrible things he had done.

After revolting against his masters, he was freed by Kay McHenry and regained some of his human self back. In the past, he was a mere killing machine, but now he has a choice between being a killing machine and a human. Since becoming a human, Ray fell in love with a woman named Magic, and they have a daughter together called Jessie.

Bloodshot has led a tragic life, and will continue to lead a tragic life until the end of his life. Due to his nanites, he cannot die, age, or be killed, so he lived a life full of bloodshed and loneliness. Many decades from now, he run a pirate crew and then join a space war that lasts hundreds of years. After winning the war, he became a king until they threw him back into Earth. Since most of civilisation was gone and the ecosystem being damaged by New Japan, Bloodshot couldn't feed his nanites, and as such, he began to slowly age and die of all age. However, his body was retrieved by Father and was experimented upon. Although the experiment failed, Bloodshot's main personality and history was destroyed and the only thing left were his nanites, which were changed completely. His remains became a vessel for Father, who is using it in the far future to reign terror on what remains of the world.

Stamina: Regeneration makes him extremely difficult to take down, let alone destroy him. He can fight for prolonged hours without showing signs of fatigue. Weaknesses: Susceptible[22] to being hacked[22] - however, if he kills himself, he will be able to escape the hacker.[99] Bloodshot needs[13] to consume[36] amino[112] acids and[1] proteins in[39] order to sustain the nanites, which grant him regeneration and super strength; in extreme situations, Bloodshot can consume his own muscles in order to prevent this weakness. Electromagnetic forces can tamper with his nanites, leaving him almost human in some cases.[7][13] He is mentally and emotionally unwell. Sometimes he relies on sub-programming that looks like his "son" to keep himself in check.[7] Harada once infected him with an autoimmune disease which weakens him, and will potentially kill him if he doesn't get regular nutrient baths.[51] There is one type of tech he cannot seem to hack.[27] To stop a small portion of nanites from replicating, Bloodshot burned them off.[71] PRS, the organisation that developed Bloodshot, can shut off his nanites from afar, rendering him useless.[84] G.A.T.E. can also do the same to him. When he entered Deadside, a magical plane of existence, it messed with his nanites he lost the ability to see.[113] Pulse canon can make him unconscious.[57] Neural Spikes messes with his head, causing him mental pain.[10] Not feeding his nanites causes them to lose their powers and become weak. When Bloodshot wasn't able to provide them with enough proteins and amino acids for centuries, it slowly "died" and vanished.[34] Dehydration is another weakness of his[92].

    • As there is no difference in his statistics of any sort, he will not get a new key for temporarily having Burned tech. In addition, it only gave him a few new abilities and nothing else.
  • Regarding his statistics; the reason he has "far higher" in all keys aside from Reborn key is because he did not show that level of control in his earlier form. In his 41st Century key, this Bloodshot is made of new AI with new nanites (and without Ray to keep it in check or control it[100]). Therefore, we do not know what he is truly capable of. However, we did get a glimpse of it when Father used his body.
  • Ray Garrison, the most recent Bloodshot might be the strongest one so far as PRS technology has been upgraded immensely in the last few decades. And as such, his feats should upscale from theirs, however, by an unknown measure.
    • Since PRS revived old Bloodshots again in the present again, it is unknown if PRS had upgraded them or not.

Explanations

  1. His power levels depends on a few different aspects, such as the availability of nanites and how much of it Ray wants to unleash. He can also control how much power he wants to unleash against his enemies, and usually, he tries to avoid unleashing too much power as it will hurt him too. Also, depending on how much "proteins"/"charge" his nanites have, he can be weaker or stronger.
    1. As we saw near the "end" of his life, due to lack of sufficient proteins, he began to lose his strength and also abilities such as immortality, which led to the death of Bloodshot as we know it.
  2. As his powers relies on nanites, he can increase it to much higher degree with more nanites available. In addition, he can increase his powers by manipulating the nanites within his body.
