Background

Glenn Radars (グレン=レーダス, Guren Rēdasu) is the protagonist of the Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor series. He becomes the substitute teacher at the age of 19 in Sistine Fibel's class, after the disappearance of her previous teacher because his master Celica told him to stop being lazy and make something of his phenomenal skill in magic. He has a past in the imperial military that not many people know about besides those close to him, where he served the queen and was known as an assassin. While spending 4 years of his life as an assassin, he grew a destain for Magic, believing it only brought death and destruction, but most of the backstory beyong having to kill is unknown. After seeing the passion the students have for magic, Glenn decided to actually try and no longer be lazy, teaching students the true form of magic rather than just teaching them a bunch of random spells. Glenn would go on to be one of the best professors at the university all the while dealing with evil organizations that plan to rule the world.

Paralysis Inducement/Electricity Manipulation (The first spell that magicians learn is <<Shock Bolt>>, a bolt of electricity that paralyses the target[1]. Magicians can sense magical waves and if the laws of the world have been tampered with), Sleep Manipulation and Sealing (Students can use the spell <<Sleep Sound>> which with a wave of a hand can put the target into a deep sleep and the spell <<Spell Seal>> to render the target unable to use magic), Summoning (Students can summon elementals made of any of the elements, and the elements are strong enough to completely restrain other students), Gravity Manipulation and Flight (Students learn the spells <<Levitate Flight>> which allows them to fly and the spell <<Gravity Control>> which allows them to amplify the gravity of their own body to pin down their opponents[2]), Light Manipulation (The elementary spell <<Flash Light>> creates an intense flash of light to blind the opponent), Transmutation (At university magicians compete in tournaments where transmutation is a common event[1].), Mind Manipulation, Memory Manipulation, Body Puppetry, Madness Manipulation and Emotional Manipulation (Memory and Mind Manipulation are among the most basic abilities that students should master before graduating. They can manipulate their own minds to forget someone or something. Magicians can use spells that make their target behave inappropriately and the spell <<Marionette Dance>> can turn the target into their puppets[1][2]. The arrangement of memories in particular is said to be a simple abilities and a student had erased their memories of their professor[1]. Magicians can read the memories of objects. The white magic <<Phantasmal Force>> causes illusions that makes the target lose their sanity and enter a state of disarray. The spell <<Mind Up>> increases ones resistance to mind-based abilities and can be greater if the magician naturally has a strong mind. The spell was used in a spiritual fortitude competition, where a professor used mind based abilities on students and they would use <<Mind Up>> to increase their resistance, and then the professor would amplify the mind based hax to overcome their resistance until the students couldn't use <<mind up>> anymore in an elimination style competition[2].), Healing and Regeneration [Low, Low-Mid overtime] (The spell <<Life Up>> increases one natural regeneration capabilities and can immediately heal minor wounds[1]. Later Glenn was healed of minor injuries and stabs throughout his entire body.), Wind Manipulation (The spell <<Gale Blow>> creates powerful winds around the user, blowing the target away[1].), Fire Manipulation and Ice Manipulation (Magicians can burn someone up and encase someone in ice[1].), Heat Manipulation (The spell <<Air Conditioning>> can modify the temperatures and humidity of the surrounding area[1].), Earth Manipulation (The spell <<Gravedigger>> can manipulate the ground by turning it into a deep hole to trap the target. ), Automatic Translation (Students can use <<Read · Language>>, a spell which helps to read a new language, by rewording it into a new-ancient language[2].), Power Nullification (Students can use <<Dispel Force>> A counter spell that dispels localized continuous spell effects such as enchantments, barriers, and shields[1].), Telekinesis (Students can use <<Psy · Telekinesis>> A spell utilizing psychokinesis. It allows the caster to move objects freely with their willpower. The longer it is sustained, the heavier the objects can be moved, but it consumes more magical energy[2].), Statistics Amplification (Students can use <<Physical Boost>> which enhances physical abilities, including strength and stamina, and can even enhance dynamic vision. Can be permanently enchanted or temporarily enchanted[3][4][4]), Illusion Creation (Students can use <<Self illusion>>, A spell that manipulates light for self-transformation. It allows the caster to transform into any form they imagine. Improvisational modifications through incantation can also affect the caster's voice[2].), Shapeshifting (Students can use <<Self · Polymorph>>, A spell for physical transformation. Unlike the illusions created by "Self Illusion," this spell allows the caster to actually acquire the abilities of the transformed object[2].), Barrier (Students can use <<Absolute Field>>, A type of field that once constructed can't be destroyed[2].), Soul Manipulation (The spell <<Saint Fire>> is used in exorcism to return the souls of the undead to its proper cycle[3].), Limited Invisibility (Students learn the ability to create an invisible hand.), Telepathy (Students can use the spell [Mind Read to read minds][5].), Non-Physical Interaction (Through the use of magic, magicians can interact with spirits/ghosts and they can also manipulate the common consciousness realm, a place where nothing exists, not even concepts such as time, up, down, left and right and likely no concepts exist, can also interact with conceptual beings.), Purification (Type 2) (Students learn the spell <<Light of Purification>> which can purify evil spirits[6].), Power Modification and Text Manipulation (One of the most important things Glenn taught his students is the modification of magic spells. By changing the incantations and texts of spells any spell can do something different than it's intended to do, such as removing certain parts of the incantation of Shock Bolt will adjust its range, or adding commons can make it curve[1].), Mind Manipulation (After multiple amplifications of the mind hax during the spiritual fortitude competition and overcoming the students mind hax resistance many times, the professor used <<Mind Break>> the most powerful mind and spiritual control spell which if left unrestrained would immediately turn the target into a vegetative state. The strongest students managed to overcome 31 amplifications to the mind based abilities.), Psychometry (The spell <<Load Experience>> allows the user to tap into the memories of objects, more often than not weapons, and gain the powers and skills of the original user of the weapon. Resistance to

Magic, Reality Warping, Subjective Reality, Physics Manipulation, Law Manipulation, Conceptual Manipulation (Type 3; Magicians by nature have resistance to magic itself, the stronger ones control, the better they can resist any and all techniques they or others possess) , Mind Manipulation, Sleep Manipulation, Status Effect Inducement, Body Puppetry, charm, Soul Manipulation , Madness Manipulation (Magicians naturally resist mind based abilities. The spell <Mind Up> increases ones mental resistance multiple times. The greater a magicians will the greater they can resist mind based magic abilities. Celica's mental resistance should be greater than Rumia's, who in a mind control competition resisted mind control even though it was amplified multiple times and where she amplified her own mental resistance and where the rest of the students fell. There was about 31 increases to mental resistances performed by Rumia who Glenn surpasses in mental fortitude. Resisted a mental attack that directly attacked the mind and even the soul, caused most to collapse, become paralyzed and lose all sensory functions by willpower alone while others had to use abilities to increase their mental resistance. Like Celica, he should be able to survive even after being struck by the scythe of death, which causes immediate death upon even slight contact[35]. Demon King also mentioned that magicians at Celica level could reincarnate easily[36]), Space-Time Manipulation, Time Stop, Causality Manipulation, Conceptual Manipulation (Type 4) (Glenn has gained absolute authority over time itself and can govern and be free from the shackles of time. He possesses full control over time, even in higher dimensions. He can stop time, make the effects of his spells last an infinite amount of time, and control distance to reach in Zero time[37][17][25]. He can also send his attacks into the past[38]. Additionally, he can force his opponents to experience aging until they rot[37]), Curse Manipulation/Advanced Mind Manipulation: There is a special mind control spell that only powerful military magicians can use that puts a curse on the targets mind. The user can speak specific words to make the targets heart feel weak and question themselves whenever the user is near and says the specific words. The spell will infinitely erode the targets heart. Unlike regular mind control spells, this spell acts as if the target is mind controlling themselves, rendering spells like <<mind up>> or innate mental resistances useless.), Danmaku (Most if not all military spells cover an extremely large area and all directions[39].), Regeneration (High Godly; The soul is a person's concept which defines them. It is also a fundamental part of their existence[40]. According to the Demon King he can't kill Celica, said that magicians at Celica's level can easily revive themselves[41], despite the Demon King being far superior to military magicians who are capable of erasing a person from the existence[42] and they can destroy on a conceptual level[43] Therefore, the Demon King decided to send Celica into another dimension.)

Glenn transcends these constructs, rendering himself unchangeable by any framework in the verse attempting to affect him. By synchronizing these variations across the parallel worlds, Glenn effectively creates the illusion of having multiple hands in this reality. Intelligence: Glenn, a former military mage, possesses mastery in various forms of combat including fencing, boxing, magic dueling, rugby, karate, and more. He excels in mixing boxing with magic, making it nearly impossible for adept students to touch him. Despite his extensive magical knowledge, Glenn's martial arts prowess surpasses any aspect of his magical abilities. He began learning combat and other disciplines at the age of 11 and graduated at 15, while everyone starts at the age 15. He is also good in adapting to any situations quickly and effectively like he was able to figure out that his perspective in a story had been changed from the third to the first person and quickly figured out get out of it. After being contracted by Nameless, he can create a world that runs in 4th Spatial direction. He can instantly create spells and modify them to the conceptual level destruction. Glenn grows endlessly as the battle continues, and was reptedaley mentioned being near-omnipotent and omnicient. He reached the realm of Gods with just his human form.

Weaknesses: Glenn is somewhat lazy in the first half of the series although he takes things seriously later on. Extinction Ray uses a lot of stamina, so much so if he doesn't have a full reserve when using it, he can fall unconscious. His revolver only destroys the soul and consciousness when shot at point blank range, otherwise it is just a regular bullet. Glenn has a bad affinity with magic, and worse stamina than most magicians, although it is only below average relative to the verse and its characters. Notable Attacks/Techniques:

Original Magic: The Imperial Court Mages possess spells unique to themselves which no one else in the verse can replicate even with Power Mimicry. Original Magics are based of the soul and individuality of the Imperial Mage. Anyone who possesses an Original Magic is considered an extremely high level mage with deep knowledge of the world.

  • The Fool's World: Glenn's signature thought-based ability, "The Fool's World," seals the activation of magic and spells in whichever space he happens to be occupying. While the ability is a double-edged sword, as it seals Glenn's abilities as well, though this weakness is overcomed after he reached his Hevean making only seal his opponents magic. Even Pure Darkness can't escape from it.
  • The Fools Stab: Glenn has a special bullet that doesn't hit the physical body, but destroys the soul and the consciousness of magicians, realms devoid of all concepts. It is one of his trump cards alongside Extinction Ray and The Fools World. Note: This is not an original spell like The Fool's World, just a unique spell Glenn created on his own.

Glenn, after Volume 19, entered a contract with the Angel of Time. Upon entering this contract, he gained full control and authority over time itself, as well as access to all of Celica Arfornia's powers, the strongest magician in the world.

  • Over Chrono Accel: With Over Chrono Accel, Glenn can control distance and time. He has the ability to make his spells have an infinite effect time and reduce the time taken to cast spells to 0. Like Celica he should be able to create an infinite space that extends in a 4D direction, suggesting the presence of four spatial dimensions and one temporal dimension making it 5D. In the verse space is always governed by the concept of time and vice versa. It should be noted that the beings on Glenn's level post-Volume 19 experience a higher order of time.
  • My World: Having all of Celica's powers, Glenn should be able to perform her original spell, My World, which stops the flow of time, effectively creating a world where only he can move.
  • The Fool Hero: During Volume 23, Chapter 6, Glenn reached "The Realm of Heaven" and is now known as "The Fool Hero." This state is the rejection of his opponent, Jastice, who follows "Absolute Justice," where he imposes his own laws on the world. Glenn's "The Fool Hero" is the rejection of such laws, allowing Glenn to function in his own set of unchanging laws. In this state any magic, Hevean/Mysteries and abilities becomes meaningless.
