How else do you explain why it didn't hurt me? This Godzilla is different from the first one
~ Nick Tatopoulos

Godzilla (ゴジラ Gojira) is a giant reptilian monster featured in the 1998 TriStar animated series Godzilla: The Series, and first introduced in the final scene of the 1998 film GODZILLA. It is the second incarnation of Godzilla to star in an American animated series, after the Hanna-Barbera Godzilla.

The only one of the original Godzilla's offspring to survive the destruction of Madison Square Garden, this Godzilla imprinted upon scientist Niko "Nick" Tatopoulos after his egg hatched in close proximity to Nick inside the building's ruins. Godzilla quickly matured into an adult and assumed the title of "King of the Monsters," becoming an ally to mankind and assisting Nick and his research team H.E.A.T. in dealing with other mutations around the world before they could threaten innocent people. Unlike his father, this Godzilla is portrayed more akin to the traditional interpretation of the character from Toho's film series, possessing an impressive resistance to conventional weaponry and preferring to fight attackers head-on, as well as utilizing the character's trademark atomic breath.

Powers and Stats

Tier: 6-C

Dimensionality: 3-D

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Large Size (Type 1), Atomic Breath, Energy Manipulation and Projection, Underwater Breathing (Type 2), Enhanced Senses, Stealth Mastery, Radiation Manipulation, Skilled Hand-to-Hand combat, Natural Weaponry (Teeth, Tail, Spikes and Claws), Heat Manipulation (Not only is his Atomic Breath capable of having extremely high temperatures, it has been shown feats such as melting steel and turning sand into glass casually), Camouflage, Underground Mobility (Godzilla is an extremely great burrower, being capable of traveling many distances while doing so quickly), Non-Physical Interaction (Can touch intangible beings like Crackler), Resistance to Heat Manipulation, Poison Manipulation and Electricity Manipulation

Attack Potency: Island level (When his atomic breath clashed with Sub-Zero Manta's ice beam, the energy was so great that it created a Supercell storm, which results in these amounts of energy)

Speed: Subsonic (Official running speed is 300 mph), with Supersonic+ reaction speed (Can dodge missiles)

Lifting Strength: Class G (Lifted over 5 million metric tons without being much of a ploblem)

Durability: Island level (Can tank attacks from Alien Spaceships which were shown to quickly kill El Gusano, even though the latter was able to tank the Atomic Breath which barely hurt him)

Stamina: Extremely High

Range: Extended Melee Range, hundreds of meters with attacks

Standard Equipment: Teeth, claws, tail

Intelligence: At least Below Average (He has displayed a knack for tactical thinking and strategy, such as when he lured Cyber-Godzilla into a trap, and he can somehow understand Nick Tatopoulos)

Weaknesses: ulnerable to electricity, but can resist it to an extent. Vulnerable to types of biological warfare. Vulnerable to mind control, although he resisted the Tachyons' mind control better than other affected monsters. Godzilla seems to have an aversion to bright lights - a weakness which was exploited by both Cameron Winter (who used powerful searchlights while attacking Godzilla with the Cyber Flies) and Maximillian Spiel (who used high-intensity quartz beams during Godzilla's battle with Rhinosaurus).

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Atomic Breath (a.k.a Power Breath, Atomic Fire): Godzilla's signature weapon is his green atomic breath. As previously mentioned, the atomic breath has a long range and is extremely hot, with feats ranging from melting steel and sand to creating its own warm front.
  • Head butts Used to send a large monster across hundreds of meters.
  • Tail swipe Used to send monsters larger flying.
  • Tackle Strong enough to obliterate a mountain structure under water of equal size easy.
  • Burrowing: Can dig through the ground and completely submerge himself in a matter of seconds; can use this to great effect in combat, whether to sneak up on enemies, perform surprise attacks, or escape danger.

Note: Not to be confused with Zilla, as Godzilla (Godzilla: The Series) and Godzilla (TriStar) are considered Godzilla incarnations for they still retain the Godzilla copyright and trademark in any Official Toho Media since 2003, including books, comics, and video games.
