Background
Jirid (ジリド, Jirido) is a Beastman who was once a soldier of Cytomander, battling in the air alongside him. He is introduced in part 3 of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann as a prisoner of Lincarne prison, where Simon was sentenced to death. Despite that, Jirid was killed by a pincer attack punch from both Simon and Viral. His last appearance was in episode 27, as Simon gave his heaven creating speech, being mentioned as one of whose dreams are taken by Simon in order to create the double helix that digs a path towards tomorrow.
