Background

Saiki Kusuo is the protagonist of Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan (斉木楠雄のΨ難 Saiki Kusuo no Sainan, lit. "The Disaster of Psi Kusuo Saiki"). He is a high school student who possesses a wide range of psychic powers, making him one of the most powerful beings in the world. Born with these extraordinary abilities, Saiki has the power of telepathy, telekinesis, psychometry, clairvoyance, and more. Despite his incredible gifts, he desires a normal life and tries to keep his powers a secret from others.

Kusuo is known for his stoic and reserved demeanor, often maintaining a calm and detached attitude even in the most chaotic situations. He has a dry and sarcastic sense of humor, making witty remarks about the absurdities he encounters in his daily life. As the series progresses, Kusuo develops friendships with several classmates, each bringing unique challenges to his quest for an ordinary life. He often finds himself reluctantly involved in their problems, though he secretly cares deeply for his friends and wants to see them happy.

Throughout the series, Saiki's character develops as he learns more about the importance of genuine human connections and the value of embracing his own identity, psychic powers and all. Kusuo was able to quickly and completely analyse a cosmology that contains infinite amount of parallel universes[38] with each having infinite probable futures that branches off to different universes with each small decision made in the entirety of time[38] in a short amount of time with extremely limited information[38]

  • Reality Warping: He demonstrated to make colored hair a natural occurrence, made it so that all injuries in the world heal much faster than normal, made it so that buildings are built in weeks instead of month, made it so that the brain works way faster in important situations, made underwear indestructible, made it so that a person with a small body can have ridiculous strength, made it so that a person can easily become unconscious by hitting them to the back of the neck, can possibly grant superpowers to every human in the world; However, he cannot return the changes he's made to normal.
  • Invisibility: Saiki can make himself and anything he's touching invisible. It takes a full minute to activate and wears off after ten minutes, though it will be undone earlier if he's touched by anyone. Additionally, he cannot use any of his other psychic powers aside from telepathy while the invisibility is active.
  • Aura: Saiki has an aura far greater than that of a normal person. While he himself cannot see it, it is great enough to completely overshadow the auras of the people around him. This goes to the extent that people with the ability to see auras will think they lost their abilities when standing close to him, since they don't realize they stand in his aura, being completely engulfed by it, but at the same time cannot see the aura of anyone else, due to them being overshadowed.
  • Time Leap: Saiki can time travel into the past. However, if he does, he needs to go back at least 5 years. When he time travels and someone realizes that two versions of him exist at the same time he will be forced back to the present. When he arrives back in the present after time travelling his memories are automatically updated with what happened in the new version of the past. When he returns to the present however long he has spent in the past will have passed in the present as well. His time travel might activate itself randomly, getting him stuck in a time loop, instead of the normal travel, and the only way to get time to go back to normal is for him to completely empty his mind of all thoughts.
  • Poison Checking: Saiki can check if there’s poison in food without touching it.
  • Expanded Telepathy: Saiki can use his clairvoyance along with his telepathy to expand the range of the telepathy.
  • Double invisibility: Saiki is able to make others invicible as long as he is touching them.

  • Limit Released Psychokinesis: The ability to create a ball of energy in the air. Its power was able to destroy a whole island.
  • Full Force: Without any precaution, Kusuo's power increases every time he attacks.
  • Assist: When full force is applied, there is a great increase on the power and speed of the object/person the psychokinesis in being used and is possible to continue until exhaustion
  • Psycho Bit: One of the main techniques Kusuo uses which allows him to move multiple rocks and inflicts damages to someone regardless of his/her distance.

Note: All his abilities and some of his resistances to be 5 Dimensional with Reality-Fiction Transcendence. This is due to of all of them scaling to Psy Energy, which can compete with Sight Energy. Haganeno used the Sight energy to make the boundaries between universes hazy, then put all of those worlds together once he had gathered enough energy and taking over the series using it, the cosmology consist of infinite parallel universes with each having infinite probable future that branches off to different universes with each small decision made. Psy Energy is the energy that is equivalent to Sight Energy which is from a higher dimension than superpowers, coming from the reader's mind. This is supported by the numerous times Saiki used some of his powers like Psychometry and Telepathy on the "readers".
