Background
Lordgenome (ロージェノム, Rōjenomu?) is the antagonist of the pre-time skip portion of the anime series, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. He was introduced into the anime as the Spiral King of Earth, subjugating humanity underground to suppress the use of Spiral Power, in order to prevent Spiral Nemesis from happening. Originally, he was a super scientist who invented extremely advanced technology, most notably, the Gunmen; mecha that utilize the life force within every Spiral being. Although, Lordgenome was most known in this era as a Spiral warrior, similar to Simon and Team Dai-Gurren, battling against Antispiral and their army for the sake of all Spiral kind's freedom. Regardless of the reality warping technology he invented, Lordgenome fell to the grasp of despair, becoming afraid of what may come, going against what he once believed in, thus the birth of the Spiral King. 7 years after his overthrowing, he was revived as a bio computer, an informant on Antispiral, fighting alongside Team Dai-Gurren to finally put a stop to Antispiral's tyranny. Towards the end of his life, Lordgenome had reprised the spirit of a warrior, giving it his all to push Team Dai-Gurren further towards their greatest victory.
