The erstwhile protagonist and unfortunate victim of the forces set in motion by The World Machine. A bright-eyed child with a curious heart, Niko was summoned to play the role of the Sun-Bearer and Messiah to a broken world.

Now that the machine has been healed and the cycle broken, Niko is finally free to return to their home. Niko can once again chase through golden fields of wheat under a warm sky, taste fluffy and syrupy pancakes, and most importantly: hug the mom that they've missed so much.

Thank you.

Background

Niko, commonly called The Messiah by NPCs, is the main protagonist of OneShot.

They are an cat-person that suddenly woke up one day in a mysterious abandoned house, where there he encountered a lonely lightbulb which lighted up upon them picking it up. Later after leaving that house, Niko finds himself in a mysterious dark world where he received information of being the prophesied Messiah that will bring The Sun back to the world by placing the lightbulb in the top of The Tower. Niko is said to be the chosen Messiah because of his unique ability to contact with The Player, a God who accompanies and assist Niko through his adventure to get put The Sun back into its place.

Powers and Stats

Tier: 10-B. Low 1-C with The Sun

Dimensionality: 3-D

Powers and Abilities:

Niko can potentially have items that grant them the following: Fragrance Manipulation (The bottle of alcohol is described as having a "repugnant" smell, which Niko can use to attack an opponent's sense of smell), Fire Manipulation (Through using the torch), Gas Manipulation (The bottle of smoke creates noxious fumes), Acid Manipulation (The bottle of acid contains acidic substances within it, of which can burn those who make contact with it) and the ability to breath in toxin fumes through The Gas Mask

Niko has access to The Sun, which is capable of the following abilities: Existence Erasure, Void Manipulation (6-D - 1 Layer; The Sun is an integral part of The Simulation, an artifact that is capable of erasing all of The Simulation and reducing it to a state of nothingness, in the instance it's broken or it's light properties are removed entirely. The Sun is also capable of irreversibly destroying The World Machine and damaging it beyond repair, in despite of The World Machine being able to restore their existence and remain unaffected by their own erasure), Light Manipulation, Disintegration (The Sun contains the very essence of The Simulation's light, with it's light being able to bring brightness to The World and said rays of light being capable of disintegrating anything that comes close to it, such as Niko), Information Manipulation (6-D - 1 Layer; The Sun is capable of erasing the entirety of The Simulation and all the fundamental information that makes up it's existence, with it being said that The Simulation in itself is just a collection of coding that underpins reality and governs all aspects of existence), Causality Manipulation (The Sun's erasure of reality also rewrites all events that have happened within The Simulation and also is capable of destroying all code, in which all actions that a being has taken, are taking or will take is embedded), Memory Manipulation, Mind Manipulation (Code contains the very minds and memories of beings within The Simulation, with The Sun being capable of completely destroying them), Conceptual Manipulation (Type 3), Soul Manipulation (6-D - 1 Layer; The Sun is capable of erasing The World Machine and damaging it beyond repair, with it being described as a "spirit" and also it being stated to be the very embodiment of "OneShot" itself), Regeneration Negation (High-Godly; The Sun is capable of destroying The World Machine beyond their ability to restore themselves, including their very spirit and fundamental information, being able to irreparably erase them from existence), Plot Manipulation (The Simulation and it's code is held together by a literal narrative that represents the story of OneShot, of which is destroyed when The Sun is shattered and destroys all of reality)

Attack Potency: Human level (Despite being a child, Niko is shown to have strength beyond those his age, such as being able to remove nailed wooden boards through the use of a crowbar). Low Macroverse level with The Sun (6-D; It's stated that if The Sun is shattered or loses it's light properties, it will completely destroy all of existence from The Simulation to even fundamentally damaging OneShot, which would also include effecting planes of existence such as The "Real" World, a plane that sees the rest of The Simulation as purely fiction and OneShot encompassing even The "Real" World as a smaller part of it's confines)

Speed: Human level (Capable of traveling to Phosphor to The Tower in the span of a day). Immeasurable attack speed through The Sun (Whenever The Sun is shattered, it's effects begin to immediately spread across The Simulation and damage OneShot, including unraveling it's space-time continuum to leave a void of nothingness in it's wake)

Lifting Strength: Human level (In spite of being a child, Niko has shown strength above those their age, such as being able to pull off wooden planks with a crowbar)

Durability: Human level (Niko is shown to have only 1 HP but it's unknown how this translates outside of the game itself, although, this implies that Niko is relatively weak in durability). Niko is harder to kill due to Immortality (Their existence is intrinsically connected to The Player and their nature as "The Messiah" ties Niko to the very concept of OneShot, with Niko being unable to truly die until their link to The Player is severed and OneShot as a concept is destroyed completely)

Stamina: Can run through the entire world while repeatedly performing tiring exercises one after another while barely tiring

Range: Standard Melee Range normally, up to Low Macroversal with The Sun (The Sun is capable destroying and irreversibly erasing all of existence from The Simulation to even fundamentally damaging OneShot, which would include higher planes of existence, such as The "Real" World, which sees The Simulation as purely fiction and OneShot encompassing even The "Real" World as a smaller part of it's confines)

Standard Equipment:

  • The Sun: The Sun is the Messiah's tie to the world. As long as the sun is unbroken, Niko remains trapped in the world of Oneshot. If the sun is shattered, the world will end instantly. It can power the solar battery found in the barrens in an instant, and proves to be a functional source of light. Even if it is not at the top of the Tower, its general purpose still works as proven multiple times by Niko in the game.

Intelligence: Niko is only a child, and as such, has little knowledge on many things, even then, they are able to solve complicated puzzles in order to advance in their adventure, though this is with the help of The Player.

Weaknesses: Niko is not a fighter and is unable to sufficiently defend themselves in a combative situation. The Sun can't be used again once shattered, which if done, will send Niko back home to The Real World {which is a 7-D plane of existence} but leave them unable to fight back the opponent
