Introduction[]
"Nobles" are the Pure-Blooded Vampires in the series "Vampire Hunter D" created as the Sacred Ancestor himself. Nobles are as old as the Earth itself and are considered one of the most power race of beings in the verse due to their natural powers and intelligence. Despite the difference in powers and abilities in many nobles, the following page will provide a list of the general or common abilities, resistances, intelligence level, and weaknesses, that they have.
- Note: It is to be noted that while these are the common stuffs for all the Nobles in the series, however, there can be some exceptions such as Duke Gilzen being resistant to Sunlight, Baron Meinster and Viscount Kraken being resistant to Water, Noble Greylancer having more tech at his disposal and so on.
Abilities[]
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics: Nobles are extremely strong, agile, and fast to the point they can easily kill humans with bare hands, destroy androids, walls, and large structures, move at supersonic speeds, have high agility and flexibility, and so on. They were stated to also possess the strength capable of uprooting Enormous Trees and can run 60 miles continuously without taking any rest.
- Immortality (Types 1, 2, 3 & 7): Nobles are Immortal in the sense that they are gifted with eternal life. Most of them do not age beyond their youth and even if they seemingly do, they do not die since they have an eternal life to live. Moreover, Nobles were stated to be undead many times but the most prominent mention comes from Baron Byron Balazs in the novel "Pale Fallen Angel". Moreover, they can live even if their unique regeneration is negated provided that they are aren't hit in the vital parts such as the heart or the neck. This was shown in Tyrant's Star Part 3 & 4 where Glencalibur negated the Regen of both Duchess Miranda and Count Braujou and they could not heal themselves with the duchess being bisected in half and yet her organs were working fine and she was alive despite bleeding continuously.
- Enhanced Senses: Nobles can see up to 2 Kilometers in a very precise and clear manner as shown by Greylancer. They can also hear sound from several kilometers away and also possess a sense of smell as shown in later novels. Moreover, they can also see clearly in complete darkness.
- Regeneration (At least High): Nobles were stated to reform back even after getting Atomized with Atomic Blast of Plasma with all their garments and accessories being intact after the reformation. Furthermore, Anti-Proton weapons that vapourize protons are stated to be ineffective against nobles. Moreover, in The Tiger In Winter novel, Vulcan Lura, a Dhampir, was able to regenerate from getting crushed by an extremely powerful Gravity Field which can crush anything or anyone so tiny that they can get sucked through the hole in the Dirac Sea (Which is a Place of Nigh-Infinite Mass with nearly Non-Existent Volume) meaning that Vulcan was reduced to the size of a Positron or even smaller. However, Vulcan was able to reform himself back and stated that it's due to his Nobility blood implying Nobles can perform the same level of Regen.
- Limited Resurrection: Vampires can seemingly resurrect themselves in a few seconds even after getting beheaded as they can join their heads back provided that it takes place within 10 mins and no harm has occurred to the body as well as the head.
- Biological Manipulation, Mind Manipulation, Soul Manipulation, Corruption (Types 2 & 3) & Power Bestowal: Nobles can turn anyone into one of their kinds i.e. into a Vampire. Nobles can strip the victim of their will and soul and make them completely theirs while bestowing them with many of their powers. Moreover, in Bedeviled Stagecoach novel, it was heavily implied that getting bit by a Noble can taint someone's soul and in Greylancer novel, it was stated that Vampires can control the will of their victims.
- Hypnotism, Paralysis Inducement, & Sleep Inducement: Nobles can easily hypnotize as well as paralyze their prey and even put anyone to sleep with a glance.
- Fear Manipulation: Nobles have the power to induce fear deep into the Fount of Life which is the conceptual aspect of anything and anyone.
- Aura: Many Nobles, especially Greater Nobles, have Auras to exhibit their power or intimidate their foes.
- Flight: Most Nobles, especially Greater Nobles, can levitate either with their powers or with the help of technological pieces of equipment. They can even float like birds in the sky.
- Telepathy: Nobles can talk Telepathically and while it was a rare case to find a Telepath who can scout the land and identify enemies via Telepathy, however, it was stated that experiments are undergoing to make Nobles capable of using Telepathy thereby hinting that Nobles in the future can use Telepathy which is confirmed by later VHD novels. Nobility were also stated to be capable of using Psychic powers.
- Telekinesis: In VHD novels, Nobles such as Count Magnus Lee and Baron Mayerling have displayed the ability to use Telekinesis. Nobility were also stated to be capable of using Psychic powers
- Perpetual Power Growth: Nobility have the ability to grow in powers throughout the years. However, the rate of their power growth is unknown as in some cases the Noble lives for thousands of years and still grow at a very negligible rate while in some cases the Noble lives for a few hundred years and have already amassed extremely high level of power.
- Shapeshifting: Nobility were stated to have the ability to change their appearance and turn into a Fire Dragon or even change their molecular structure and become gases, clouds, darkness itself and even rainbows
- Animal Manipulation: Nobles can control wild beasts and even make them obey their orders even if the beasts have never met the Nobles. This was shown and stated in the novel "Pale Fallen Angel".
- Minor Death Manipulation: Nobles coming in contact with any flower wither them away instantly unless the flower is made by Nobility.
- Stealth Mastery: Nobles are very stealthy and can walk fast without making any sound.
- Self-Sustenance (Type 1): Nobles can also survive in outer space and despite being unable to fly, however, they can survive indefinitely without Suffocating or Freezing.
- Weapon Mastery: Nobles were were stated to be expert and specialists in combat including swordsmanship.
- Life Manipulation: Nobles were stated to have the power to give life and regenerative abilities to non-living things.
- Martial Arts: Nobles were stated to know their own form of Martial Arts which allows them to fight opponents in h2h combat.
Resistances[]
- Ice Manipulation: Nobles can easily survive in the cold vacuum of space for an indefinite amount of time where the temperature is -270°C.
- Shadow Manipulation: Nobles do not cast any shadow due to their unique magical/occult physiology and as such, they are invulnerable against beings who attack shadows to kill individuals.
- High Heat and Magma: Nobles are stated to be impervious to Heat based attacks and moreover, they can also swim through/survive in Magma with over 2000°C temperature. However, this resistance is only exclusive for True Nobles upto at least 50,000°C and is absent amongst the Servants of Nobility as stated in Dark Nocturne.
- Radiation: Nobles are stated to be completely immune to Radiation from nuclear blasts and they can also survive in Space indefinitely without getting affected by Cosmic Radiations.
- Poison Manipulation: While Nobles can get affected by Poison, however, they do not die from Poison no matter how virulent or toxic it is. This was made clear in Volume 14 Dark Road Part 1 & 2.
- Biological Manipulation, Mind Manipulation, Soul Manipulation, Hypnotism, Paralysis, Fear Inducement & Sleep Inducement: Nobles can fight each other without getting affected by their basic standard abilities such as paralysis, hypnotism, fear inducement, and sleep inducement. Even if they were given the "Kiss of Nobility", they would die instead being affected.
Intelligence[]
- Nobles are extremely intelligent and cunning not because of their ability to manipulate others and being skilled in military strategies and combats, but because of the fact that they can innovate and develop unique gadgets such as Androids with Pocket Reality consisting of tens of millions of stars inside their body, developing machines capable of curing diseases that are impossible to cure, having technology to change their physical form into gas or illusion, developing MFTL++ ships, being able to mathematically predict fate and probability with 100% accuracy, genetically engineering and spawning demons and vicious beasts, creating machines that can manufacture natural darkness which can cover the Universe overtime, developing coffins with extremely sophisticated and advanced technology that has an infinite sized dimensions with traps and other things insides, creating Mobius books and Blood Fountain, and so on. The mind of a Greater Noble was stated to be like a Universe where even humans compared to Lowly Crawling Maggots cannot comprehend the infinite vastness of the Cosmos.
Weaknesses[]
- Natural Sunlight: Sunlight, as a holy emblem, is the most basic weakness for Nobles due to the latter's nature of being a Vampire which can reduce them to dust with its light, however, this works only on the surface of the Earth
- Holy Cross: Holy Cross has been repeatedly shown to be a major weakness for the Nobles whether they look at it or not and even the mere shape of the cross can render even powerful nobles like Lawrence Valcua or Julius Van Doren completely powerless and paralyzed.
- Stakes and Sword: A major weakness is that driving Wooder Stakes and Steel Swords through the heart of a Vampire can kill them
- Water: Nobles were stated to be unable to swim while they hate water and that they would drown even in waist-deep water due to their physiology.
- Decapitation: While Nobles have regeneration on elementary particles level and they can resurrect within 10 minutes of getting beheaded, however, if 10 minutes passess and the head is kept seperated from the body, the Nobles will die.
