Those who observe the timer report intense feelings of apocalyptic dread, nihilism, and anxiety that persist for as long as they continue to watch. When the countdown reaches zero, the display resets, and the holder of Object 95 gains fabricated memories about the Backrooms—memories that directly contradict the information found in the official Database.
It is later revealed that Object 95 originated from an alternate timeline, where its countdown triggered a catastrophic event that merged that reality with several others. The current timeline—where the main continuity of the article takes place—is the result of that merger, along with the spontaneous appearance of a new instance of Object 95 within it.
