Background
Simon Pure, born 13th July 1749, was a soldier in the British Empire who fought against George Washinton and his revolution. However, in December of 1776, whilst running from soldiers, he found himself in a Church run by Washington and his band of evil magicians. By accident, he fell into their magical experiment and thus gained immortality (and a few other supernatural abilities which he doesn't know about).
Over the course of last 275+ years, Simon has done nothing worthwhile. He was an assassin for hire, earning pennies to feed himself, but his hunger cannot be satisfied. Despite his shortcomings, Simon is a really good man, who cares about the safety of others.
Over the course of centuries, Simon has become accustomed to losing people[1], so when he meets people the first time, he will do everything he can to distance himself.
Simon is seemingly a doorway to a greater power that can bring about the end of an entire country[1].
