Background

Before Jack Boniface was born, his father was killed by Master Darque, and years after he was born, his mother committed suicide, leaving him all alone in this world. But despite that, it did not bother him a lot. It was life, and he was just living it, letting the days pass by. One day, however, all of that changed when the Shadow Loa bonded with Jack, turning him into the Shadowman. For many generations, the men of the Boniface family has been hosting this otherworldly Loa. They have been using its power to keep Deadside monsters and Master Darque away, but too many of them fell to their death in front of that monster. And now, it is Jack's turn.

After finally defeating Master Darque and saving himself and the world, Jack came face-to-face with a new form of enemies, both from the Deadside and the living side, and he had no choice but to protect the innocent from the dark and evil monsters that dwell in the shadows.

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Transformation (Can transform into Shadowman.[1]), Statistics Amplification (Can tap into his Shadowman powers without transforming.[2]), Pain Tolerance and Supernatural Willpower (Was being eaten by Soulside monsters and despite that, fought against them[3]. Was able to use his willpower to warp reality in Soulside, where evertyhing works based on willpower here, if your willpower is not strong, you won't survive. But the stronger you are, then you can warp reality and do other things with it, like here he was able to return his body to a normal state[3]. As Magpie, he was in constant pain - physically.[4][5], mentally[6] and spiritually. Despite that, he was doing Master Darque's bidding in the Deadside, fighting his battles as well as his own battles), Resistance to Possession, Madness Manipulation and Corruption (The Shadow Loa tries to possess and take over its host.And to do that, it needs to drives them mad to extreme degrees and corrupts their souls and minds.[7][8] Jack was able to resist its possession and slowly fought against its madness inducing abilities.[9][10][11][12] Even during emotional distress, Jack was able to stop the Loa from controlling him further.[7] The Loa tend to drive its host mad,[13] however, Jack has been able to resist him.[4] Just going to Deadside alone will cause people to go mad, but Jack has never been affected by it.[4]), Fear Manipulation (Resisted the Fear Loa - Tremble's - fear inducing powers, which was capable of manipulating the fears of an entire city.[12] Later it was revealed that the Shadow Loa protects its hosts from feeling fear[14] Later, Jack revelaed that he cannot feel fear anymore thanks to his Loa[15]), and Soul Manipulation (Souls in Valiant are made entirely of energy. They can never be destroyed and can only ever be transformed into something else[16])

Intelligence: He's a skilled carpenter and has had many jobs, but his intelligence overall is nothing special. However, after becoming the Shadowman, he got access to a great degree of magical knowledge, as well as some combat knowledge. | Same as before. | Same as before. | Unknown. Weaknesses: Normal human weaknesses. Has anger issues[9] and outbursts, however, he managed to fix that as time went on. The Screaming Whip - a special whip that hurts any child of African descent.[11] | Shadow Loa users are generally weaker in sunlight.[17] Without the Scythe, Jack's control over the Shadowman's powers wavers. However, it doesn't decrease in power.
