The wishes of those who have fallen and the hopes of those who will come after them are woven into a double helix to dig a path that will lead to tomorrow! That's Tengen Toppa, that's Gurren Lagann. My drill is the drill that creates the heavens!!
~ Simon as they destroy Antispiral's Giga Drill

Background

Simon (シモン, Shimon?) (Pronounced like "Seemon") is the primary protagonist of the anime series, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. He begins the story as a short, unassuming and lonely young boy from Giha Village, working as a digger to expand the village. One day as he was digging, he unearthed objects that allow for Kamina and himself to begin their adventure above the surface. Throughout their adventures, they have gained a sense of a greater purpose on the surface, which is to fight against the Beastman and the Spiral King, Lordgenome, so that all humans may live on the surface without a worry in the world. After the defeat of Lordgenome, Simon usurped the position of Earth's protector as the Commander-in-Chief of Kamina City. 6 years after taking this position, he was arrested for war crimes, leaving Kamina City and Messenger Nia to make an enemy out of Simon. Despite all odds against him, he stood tall, with his unwavering spirit to battle against the real threat; Antispiral, to save his love interest, Nia, from this cosmic threat. After the defeat of Antispiral, Simon takes upon his wish to protect the universe at all costs, by preventing the Spiral Nemesis from happening. 20 years later, Simon travels the Earth, stepping down as Team Dai-Gurren's leader and Gurren Lagann's pilot, to guide all of Spiral kind to the path towards tomorrow.

Attack Potency: Unknown, Small City level in Lagann (Kamina explained combining as two fighting spirits colliding. This results in Lagann being half of the power of Gurren Lagann), City level in Gurren Lagann | Unknown, Small Country level in Gurren Lagann, Small Country level+ with Core Drill (Blew a hole into Lordgenome) and in Lagann (Destroyed Lazengann in a drill clash. Fought equally with Lordgenome for a moment, but eventually lost) | At least Large Building level+ (Scales to his durability), Small Country level+ with Core Drill (The Core Drill is a conduit for the user's Spiral Energy. Gurren Lagann was stated to output more Spiral Power ever before, which is fueled by Simon) and in Gurren Lagann | At least Large Building level+, Continent level+ in Gurren Lagann, Planet level in Arc Gurren Lagann, Galaxy level with Core Drill (Simon was the only one with power capable of transforming Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren, which requires for him to be the Ultra Spiral Activation Engine and to fuel it with truly awakened Spiral Power on a galactic scale) | Galaxy level (Simon was able to become Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren's Ultra Spiral Activation Engine, confirming that he had truly awakened his Spiral Power, similar to Lordgenome, who can remain just as powerful outside of any weaponry) | High Cosmos level (As half of what powers Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann, after its emergence from the ultra-dense space, he should be this powerful) | High Macroverse level (Integrated the multiverse; an 11 dimensional infinite multiverse. Was later implied to have infinite reserves of Spiral Power, which flows throughout Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann; consistent with merging with all possible versions of himself, therefore, attaining all their will. With Tengen Toppa Lagann, he created a drill, which could match Granzeboma’s drill) | High Macroverse level (Shocked Antispiral by withstanding his full power, then matched Antispiral in a fist fight) | High Macroverse level (Killed Antispiral, taking in his will, assimilating his power)

Speed: Subsonic (Ran alongside Kamina on multiple occasions, being able to keep up with him), Hypersonic in Lagann (As half of Gurren Lagann, Lagann should be this fast), High Hypersonic in Gurren Lagann | Subsonic, at least Massively Hypersonic in Gurren Lagann, higher in Lagann (Kept pace with Lordgenome in hand-to-hand combat) | At least Subsonic with at least Hypersonic Combat Speed and Reactions (Stating he could withstand Messenger Nia's attacks, he should also be as fast as her with Spiral Power), at least Massively Hypersonic in Gurren Lagann | At least Subsonic with at least Hypersonic Combat Speed and Reactions, Massively Hypersonic in Gurren Lagann, Sub-Relativistic in Arc Gurren Lagann | At least Sub-Relativistic (Superior to Ashtanga) | Massively FTL+ (Half as fast as Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann) | Immeasurable (As an 11 dimensional being, he is capable of freely moving through the 11th dimension, which is a temporal dimension. Simon's Spiral Energy travelled throughout the multiverse including its past and future to grab all possible versions of himself and to merge with them. Flew around the entire multiverse to gather all the members of Team Dai-Gurren) | Immeasurable (Kept pace with Antispiral in hand-to-hand combat) | Immeasurable (Faster than before)

Lifting Strength: Unknown, Class K in Lagann (As half the strength of Gurren Lagann, it should be this strong), Class M in Gurren Lagann | Unknown, Class T in Gurren Lagann, higher in Lagann (Possesses greater strength than Gurren Lagann) | At least Class 10 (Should be comparable to Messenger Nia's strength), at least Class T in Gurren Lagann | At least Class 10, Class P in Gurren Lagann, higher in Arc Gurren Lagann | At least Galactic (Far superior to Kittan) | At least Galactic (Possesses far greater strength after absorbing all the Spiral Energy from the ultra-dense space) | Immeasurable (Should be this powerful, as the multiverse itself is integrated as a part of his existence. This strength should be magnified infinite times with his Spiral Power) | Immeasurable (Simon's strength matches Antispiral) | Immeasurable (Has greater strength than before)

Durability: Wall level (Took a full force punch from Kamina), Small City level in Lagann, City level in Gurren Lagann | Wall level, Small Country level in Gurren Lagann, Small Country level+ in Lagann (Took blows from Lordgenome in their fist fight) | At least Large Building level+ (Told Messenger Nia to do her worst against him, and stated that he wouldn't die), Small Country level+ in Gurren Lagann | At least Large Building level+, Continent level+ in Gurren Lagann, Planet level in Arc Gurren Lagann | Galaxy level | High Cosmos level | High Macroverse level (Was able to withstand the Infinity Big Bang Storm; an attack that was compared to the universe's creation) | High Macroverse level (Took blows from Antispiral in their fist fight) | High Macroverse level (Survived the destruction of Antispiral's Universe; a space-time that oscillates between the membranes of the 10th and 11th dimension; corresponding to a 10 + 1 dimensional reality, which is implied to be infinite in size)

Stamina: Peak Human (Can keep fighting for about hours, while starving[1]) | Superhuman (As Spiral Power is proportionate to the level of willpower a Spiral being has, he is superior to Kamina, who could keep fighting, even after getting a large stab wound in his upper body, around the heart region) | Superhuman (Greater than before) | Superhuman (Has galactic reserves of Spiral Power) | Superhuman | Superhuman (Much greater than before, after absorbing all the Spiral Energy from the ultra-dense space) | Infinite (Created Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, which is implied to have infinite Spiral Power flowing throughout it) | Infinite (Gained massive increases in Spiral Power throughout the final battle, and is far superior compared to his previous self) | Infinite

Intelligence: Gifted (Can come up with strategies in the heat of battle. Made a plan to sneak up on Viral and managed to damage Enki; a plan created and executed before Viral could fire Enki's laser. Thought how to make Dai-Gunzan fall in a hole, just from looking at the ground. Stated by Kittan to have become a first-rate commander, as he has only been so for one month. Simon when first using a gun, shot at Viral's chains and cuffs, without damaging him. Stated to have become quite proficient in Martial Arts with only 3 years of training. Managed himself well against Viral and Lordgenome in hand-to-hand combat, without any prior training) | At least Nigh-Omniscient (After integrating the multiverse, he merged with every possible version of himself. This would give him the experience and knowledge of every single one of them)

Weaknesses: Gets scared, which causes him to be unable to fight and think straight (this weakness present through episodes 1–3). He cannot utilize Spiral Power without the will to live | Same as before. His lack of the will to live causes him to be incapable of using Spiral Power effectively (this weakness is present through episodes 9 and 10) | Same as before. His hot-blooded nature can make him careless, and rush into battle | Same as before, except his hot-blooded nature making him careless, and rushing into battle | Same as before | Same as before | Same as before | Same as before | Same as before. Opposes resurrecting the dead
