Background
Sunset Shimmer is a female unicorn pony (human within the Human World) and a main character in the Equestria Girls franchise, initially appearing as the main antagonist of My Little Pony Equestria Girls. She is a student at Canterlot High School, a former student of Princess Celestia, and a rhythm guitarist for the Rainbooms after being redeemed by them. She, after being redeemed, is now an ally to the Equestria Girls Mane 6, along with Twilight Sparkle, and friends with other characters such as Starlight Glimmer.
