The Writer, also known by his real name Grant Morrison, is an author avatar of DC Comics writer Grant Morrison. Presented in their Animal Man run and alluded to in Final Crisis and its tie-ins, he is shown to be a supreme being to the characters inside the comics, being the man behind their creation and whose writting makes up their lives.
