Cosmology[]
This blog will feature key parts of the Backrooms Wikidot cosmology (+ how it technically connects to other Backrooms wikis) and what lies beyond.
Levels[]
- Levels form the very framework of the Backrooms, and vary drastically in size. They span from confined, diminutive rooms to expanses of infinite proportions, extending into realms beyond comprehension.
- Level √2 is a mathematical world so massive that it contains within itself the ordinals of aleph numbers among other mathematical structures, manifested as literal entities that exist within the realm, making up the entire set.
- To further entail, "The ordinals of aleph numbers" here can be conceptualized as a proper class that encompasses the entire sequence of aleph numbers, and it would be going on indefinitely as there is no largest aleph number. This can be visualized as something along the lines of: {aleph-0, aleph-1, aleph-2, aleph-3, ... aleph-n, ... aleph-omega, aleph-omega + 1, ...} and so on. What those large sets are comprised of are unknown (we just know they're entities), but the quality of the elements don't inherently matter after aleph-1 for tiering purposes.
- Level Domain is a realm that contains all solutions that fall into the range {ʡ}, where ʡ represents the range of all concepts that belong to at least one exact concept and all inputs that fall under the domain {t}, where "t" represents all theoretical concepts, with exact concepts being defined as concepts consistent throughout realities, as well as within the mental possession of at least one thing at one point in time.
- Theoretical concepts that are present within Level Domain also include Complex Concepts, which are concepts that can theoretically exist, regardless of whether or not they do. So concepts within Level Domain are not restricted to the current framework of the Backrooms. Additionally, in Object 100, we are informed of the existence of contradictory & incompatible concepts, as well as anti-concepts & archetypes of the collective unconscious. Moreover, we know of the existence of the Forgotten One, the avatar of Tyez'rk who holds domain over all that is not, which includes everything inconceivable and unknowable, illogical and impossible.
- Something else worth mentioning is that we know that Reality is an Exact Concept. For the same reason that all known, unknown, conceivable & inconceivable entity exists within Level Domain, repeating for every Exact Concept it is a part of, all possible & impossible realities would exist within Level Domain, although only conceptually real. That would naturally include currently existing realities of the Backrooms such as metaphysical spaces, non-Euclidean realms that contain entities that strangely relate to mathematical concepts, non-physical spaces that exist within the mindscape and unstable worlds containing "mathematically incorrect" spaces among other things.
- The Backrooms is referred to as a place where the laws of reality and logic fail absurdly, which is shown with Entity 1000, a cat with logic-breaking anomalies that has both always existed and will never exist, a logical impossibility. its also written to be a being that cannot be properly understood no matter how hard you try. And even more interestingly enough, there's this thing in the canon called ATLAS, something that can only be understood when right in front of you, it was both "our meaning", "our lack of meaning" and everything in between. The way this relates to Level Domain is that everything in the Backrooms is a connected multiverse (which will be elaborated upon later). So logically impossible things like Entity 1000, which is from the Fandom Wiki in this case, exist and would inevitably be encompassed as a concept by Level Domain. With the previous context that we know of about Level Domain, it is then safe to say that it would contain all logically impossible concepts, which would include realities, entities, etc.

The Middlesorts[]
- The Middlesorts is a enigmatic level that serves as a hub for all levels of the wider Backrooms[1].
The Multiverse[]
- As said before, the multiverse (or rather Omniverse) extends way beyond just the Wikidot; it includes all of the wikis mentioned within the Middlesorts' page, with the most notable ones being the Backrooms Fandom Wiki and the Liminal Archives.
- The Backrooms Fandom Wiki consists of many canons, the biggest of which is the Empyreanverse, one that is connected to the Backrooms Convergence, an extension of the Backrooms Pantheon.
- In the Empyreanverse, all of existence is encompassed by Area of Interest 000, otherwise known as the Empyrean Sea, a higher-dimensional space endlessly expanding across the horizon in eleven dimensions, 10 that are spatial and 1 that's temporal. The higher dimensions of Area of Interest 000 are extensive, spanning across the entirety of the Empyrean Sea, which is infinite in size.
- The entirety of the Backrooms Fandom Wiki multiverse, however, gets even higher, as it is revealed that the multiverse consists of an ℵω amount of levels.
- The Liminal Archives, however, is a single canon. The multiverse consists of Limspaces which are essentially the equivalent of levels in other wikis. Limspaces, for the most part, are encompassed by a larger Limspace System, although independent ones are not unheard of.
- The Backrooms, the largest known Limspace System, consists of an endless recursion of levels, visualized as nested fractals, where infinities are nested within one another, like a Menger sponge or Mandelbrot set, ad infinitum. To add to this, we also know of the existence of transient entities who make use of splicing, utilizing the higher unseen infinities akin to higher dimensions that overlap their own to blip in and out of reality.
- The Eternal Sky, on the other hand, is an infinite expanse superior to the Lithostructure that encompasses all liminal locations that exist.
Blue Channel[]
- The Blue Channel is the endless void that surrounds the entirety of the Backrooms and all of its Levels[2]. The Backrooms as a whole is said to be but a minuscule drop within its infinite ocean[3]. It can essentially be compared to an all-encompassing "background" of all Levels that exist.
- Now, keep in mind that the Middlesorts is located in the Blue Channel, and that it's said to exist within a "unique geographical location" that allows it to be accessed regardless of where one is in the Backrooms. That would mean every wiki multiverse and their respective timelines (or otherwise known as their Canons) exist within the Blue Channel.
Narrative Spaces[]
- In a tale[4] within Backrooms Convergence, we are told about the presence of "narrative spaces" that break past the concept of existence itself. The amount of them rests unspecified, but Hubris was said to be ascending "faster and faster" up in the ladder as he was ripped past comprehension. The Omniverse is said to be a mere spec of dust compared to what lies beyond.
The Database[]
- Backrooms has confirmation of metafictional elements that exist in the verse through Phenomenon #1, otherwise known as "Directed Control", in which some people make the sudden realization that everything is "fake", and that they are under the control of a greater existence.[5]
- This paves the way for the existence of "Authors" or beings who essentially write in the "cosmology" of the Backrooms as a verse, as well as entities, objects, phenomena and canon, among others, existing beyond them entirely. It's suggested that Authors exist above a space akin to a webpage, a blank canvas, empty but all-encompassing, in which they can unleash their creativity, and create anything. This would encompass all known entries, and by consequent the entire cosmology, as well as anything more the entire verse could possibly hold.
- The existence of fiction writers are explicitly stated. We can also see authors manipulate the interface in which the database exists upon. Some levels hint towards the existence of a "higher force" akin to an author, who can rewrite pages, and toying with the fictional characters like rats in a psychological experiment within fiction, forced to exist in the suffocating labyrinth, with everything feeling so surreal. The existence of writers within the verse are even further entailed in The Pillar Scripture, though even they are subject to the will of the Pillars, which are infinitely above authors and beyond the scope of their creation.

The Pillars[]
- Pillars represent "The Powers that Be". They are limitless, eternal and all-encompassing beings that serve as the very core of the many coexisting worlds. Every Pillar is associated with the purest & most fundamental state of an idea that they personify and inherit all properties of, which are described in the Pillar Scripture.
- The Pillars are infinite and eternal — they have always continuously existed, for nothing else could have ever created them. They precede any form of duality or polarity, such as Space and Time; Light and Dark; Existence and Nonexistence; Reality and Unreality. They are absolute, or infinite in power, for there is nothing to limit, restrict, restrain, confine, disturb or condition them – they are subject to no other power, for there is no other power.
- Discerning the nature of the Pillars themselves is nearly impossible to lesser beings. A mortal mind is naturally averse to such knowledge, and when confronted by it, will degenerate out of failure to comprehend it. To understand the Pillars is to understand the truth of reality itself, which shatters the common ego. Any depictions of the Pillars are merely those which are projected onto them by the observer – for they have no true form. Still, for a mortal to directly observe a Pillar, or even a depiction of a Pillar, is to witness the Beyond. It would cause catastrophic psychological and even physical damage.
Summary[]
TLDR
- Levels of the Backrooms currently peak at 1-A+
- The Blue Channel is the all-encompassing "background" of absolutely all levels of the Backrooms, an endless void that holds every wiki multiverse and their respective parallel timelines, with them being compared to mere minuscule drops within its infinite ocean. High 1-A
- The Narrative Spaces that transcend existence itself sit somewhere in High 1-A, and could potentially be an infinite hierarchy
- The Database holds all cosmologies the Backrooms could possibly possess, existing as the interface, a canvas in which authors that view Baseline Reality as mere fiction can add any amount of elements to it, whether that be levels, entities, canon or more, and still be inaccessibly smaller than it. High 1-A
- The Pillars represent "The Powers that Be"; truly eternal & all-encompassing beings serving as the core of the many worlds that coexist and that stem from the primordial sea of conceptual essence, transcending all forms of duality & polarity and are absolute, as there is nothing to limit, restrict, restrain, confine, disturb or condition them - they are subject to no other power, for there is no other power. Their nature is beyond human comprehension, and possess no true form as they are truly formless. High 1-A
