This page aims to explain and tier the rather complex cosmology of Valiant Comics and Entertainment. Before jumping into the cosmology itself, let's establish a few things. To begin with, the canon:

  • Futures are canon to the present day
  • All previous valiant continuities are now part of Valiant Entertainment as universes, the current continuity[1].

The Earth

Earth is a sentient entity - a God - in Valiant Entertainment, a being with a mind and will of its own. Earth has vast amount of powers, ranging from power bestowal to resurrection, empowerment and environment manipulation, and more. The entity creates Geomancers to protect it from harm.

Earth is populated with other Gods, such as the God of Dead, and the God of Darkness. These Gods wages war on one another to reign supreme, but Earth doesn't want that. Which is why she creates Geomancers and employs agents like the Eternal Warrior to protect her.[2][3]

Tier: 3-D/5-B

The Universe

Space is "Not Finite"[4], in other words, it is Infinite. We see that a Universe's past cannot be changed, as the Universe's rules prevent any temporal tampering, a Chronology Protection[5]. This is because everything is already decided, the past, present, and future, all exist simultaneously[6], like pages in a book, but only one can be read at a time.

A single Universe has its own history[5][7][8][9][10], and even if it ends, the rest of the Multiverse (alternate timelines) will not be effected, because Space and Time are intertwined[11], so destroying one results in destruction of the other as well. It is a single bubble[10], a Space-Time Continuum.

However, these Universes also have a 5th Dimension[12], another axis of movement separate from the normal four. It also allows its residences to move in Time the same way we move in space.

Oblivi-1 is at the edge of space-time, where everything is about to end, which cannot be reached by conventional 4th dimensional time travel, and these 5th dimensional beings are the only ones who can get there.

Tier: Low 1-C

Chronology Protection

There is a Chronology Protection[13][14][15][16][17][18] in place, as such, the past - and the future - cannot be changed in the Valiant Universe.[19] No matter how hard one tries, the universe will rectify[13] it. For example, when Myshka went back in time to make Soviet the lone super power, it did not work.[19] And when Myshka tried to bring down the Berlin Wall, it didn't work until the time was right.[19] There will always be something standing in their way to somehow keep the equilibrium going. In Myshka's case, it was also Divinity who was undoing her changes to the timeline.[20] However, small events, which has limited consequences on the universe can be altered, albeit it is still not an easy task.

Evil Robot also couldn't change the past, so instead, he erased time itself in bits and pieces to destablise the space-time continnum. Then he was able to go to the far past and try to remove the original living entity which originally had led to the birth of humanity. However, even then, a group of heroes and a villain were able to stop his plan. This is how the universe was able to rectify temporal tempering.

The future is also set in stones for the Valiant Universe. Their futures are already written, and can be changed, but the Observer exists so those futures are not tampered with/changed. [21][19][22]

In addition, in order to destroy a timeline, one must find a way to get rid of the temporal tampering. If that's not removed, a timeline can never be destroyed. Chronology Protection also makes it hard to traverse to other realities[17] to prevent tampering.

Multiverse

The answer is that there are multiple alternate universes, called "Alternities"[23], each being it's own reality[24][25][26][27][28]. They are also isolated[24][25][26][27][28]. from each other, with all existing in an empty, blank space. There's also a mention of the term "The rest of the Multiverse"[24][25][26][27][28]. in context to History (Time) being erased, insomuch as that not even a singularity[24][25][26][27][28] (the infinitely dense point before the Big-Bang) does not exist. Then there's also the fact that Reality (in this context, Timeline) is not singular[29], as there do exist alternate timelines[30].

Each reality has its own time traveller, meaning it has its own concept of "Time", a boundary of Time enclosing Space[31], which can only be breached by manipulating Time. That is, each Timeline is its own Space-Time Continuum (Bubble)[28].

These Universes/Timelines are fanning outwards infinitely, like "Petals of a Lotus"[32], hinting at a Branching-Universe like structure, where one line (Timeline) branches into multiple, and those branched lines branch again, and so on and so forth. infinitely, and constantly[33]. They are also called[34] Quantum Realities, many[35] times[33]. All of these alternate timelines have a single source, called the "Original Universe"[36] that they branch out from. Every moment spans infinite possibilities[37].

Now, this is not something like "one universe branches into infinite universes and that's it", but rather "The original branching into endless realities, and those iterations branching further, iterations of iterations, in an endlessly entangled web"[33], that is, infinite timelines branch from one, and from any one of those, infinitely more branch, constantly and infinitely.

Because Timelines are branching "Constantly" (each instance in time) and infinitely, there would be a separate timeline branching for each moment in Time, with the total amount resultantly being uncountably[33] infinite. And since the whole thing is nested, the whole thing becomes even bigger.

Tier: High 1-B

Other Dimensions

Deadside

Deadside is the afterlife itself in Valiant.[38] It is the world of the dead and the ghosts,[39] and the ugly reflection of the universe.[40] The Deadside is a larger reality/space-time,[39] that rides on the back of the universe like a parasite[41] and can absorb the[42] main reality into itself[43]. Deadside is said to be the world between[43] worlds.[44]

In size, the Deadside is infinite, similar to the living[45] universe as it mirrors the living world[46] and borders all worlds - likely referring to universes[45]. It can be accessed from anywhere across the "worlds" and used to reduce the travelling distance between stars and galaxies.[47] Deadside has it's own time[48] that is different than time in the mortal planes[49]. The flow of time and space is different than it is in the mortal plane[49]. Samedi stated, the mind of a mortal cannot understand Deadside, even something as advanced as nanites.[49]

Deadside is made of countless realms, each operating under its own laws[50].

Master Darque sought to use the immense energies of Deadside to lay waste to all of existence and battle God[51].

Deadside Creatures

The creatures of Deadside are demonic entities that exists purely as souls, taking various shapes of monsters and demons and spirits[45]. These creatures are ultimately the dark reflection of living creatures.[45] They come into existence[44] from the greed, fear, and other emotions of those in the living world.[40] Some of its creatures are seemingly spread throughout time and space. And it is implied that these creatures operate on a different axis.[52]

The Intelligence Mechanism

A God Computer, which holds knowledge on everyone and[52] everything throughout the entirety of space and time.[53]

Dreamside

One of the many planes in Deadside is called Dreamside[50], the plane of dreams - where dreams die when they are forgotten or abandoned[54]. One with a strong will can revive that dream and use the properties of this plane to gain immense power, capable of performing great feats[54].

Dreamside, like other Deadside realms, have its own laws that are beyond the laws of the normal world[50].

Tier: High 1-B

Undeadside

There is also Undeadside, an unusual reflection of Deadside where everyone is a zombie[1].

Tier: High 1-B

Loas

Loas are ancient creatures - Gods of great power who exists to bring balance to the cosmos.[48] The new Abettors were able to siphon the energies of the Pantheons to stop the Deadside - from merging with the living world[55]

Tier: High 1-B

Mindspace

The Mindspace is a higher dimensional plane, where time is irrelevant. The Mindspace is an ocean of thoughts of everyone, co-existing simultaneously.[56]

Tier: High 1-B

Hells

Beyond time itself,[57] next to heaven, there are countless hells.[58]

Tier: High 1-B

Heaven

Heaven is a place beyond space and time[59] where it gives the word eternal and eternity true meaning.[58]

Tier: High 1-B

Lyceum

A place of worship and divinity, a place of knowledge and wisdom. Lyceum exists beyond the time and space of the normal worlds,[60] it is an other-worldly plane inaccessible to most.

Tier: High 1-B

God

There is God, a being who seemingly exists beyond the reach of anyone and everyone. Master Darque planned to collapse the Deadside into the Living Side and have the former "eat" the latter. Once the Living Side was turned into necromatic energy, he would take it and absorb it, gaining enough power to finally come face-to-face with God.[39]

Tier: High 1-B

Ante-Space

Ante-Space is basically the "Space" between Timelines/Realities where different realities, a super-position[61] over realities where they are seen as mere bubbles. In other words, it's Extra-Dimensional in context to the whole Multiverse. Not only that, the amount of timelines it contains is defined as "All of What-might-have-happened (Possible)"[61], collectively known as Ultimate Reality[62].

It is also likely the higher-dimensional plane[62] where the beings who created the Multiverse reside[61]. That is, the plane is not simply a higher dimensional layer above the conventional High 1-B hierarchy, but above the whole structure of the hierarchy (Multiverse) entirely.

Among the things it contains, there are worlds like Heaven, which are beyond time, and where the living world is not infinite as eternity only exists in Heaven[63]. Similar to it is also Hell, which is also beyond Time[63].

Tier: High 1-B+

Faraway/Timeless Word

A dimension without time, which can be threatened[18] if all realities are turned into null worlds - in other words, erased from existence[16].

Exists beyond[64] the standard universal structures and flow of time[65]. It is outside change that effects universes and their direct higher dimensions/realms like Deadside[66].

Tier: High 1-B+

Creators

The creator - or perhaps creators - was confirmed to be from a higher dimensional plane of existence and created this multiverse and its infinite realities.[67]

Tier: High 1-B+

Barriers of Reality

There are many barriers of reality[68] itself, the many layers[69] separates reality from the Unknown and Beyond.

Tier: Higher into High 1-B+ for each layer

The Unknown and Beyond

If everything aforementioned is considered as "Reality", then the Unknown and Beyond is beyond the barrier of that reality[70], an extra-dimensional plane[71] where the timelines (that is, the Multiverse) are seen as fiction[72].

Here, anything that one can imagine, can be realised. It is, at the same time, both fiction and reality, where these two intertwine[73], a metaphysical plane[74]. Compared to everything below it, it's said to hold "infinite power and knowledge"[75] limited only to the possible extremity of imagination[73]. If someone believes[76] in something, that something becomes the truth[76] (real). Words, grammar and imagination[75] become reality, they build reality[75], realising the imagined into existence, even if it's entire worlds.

It is beyond the many layers[71] separating itself and Reality, and Infinite, beyond comprehension[70] in comparison.

The Unknown is a metaphysical[51] extra-dimensional[21] plane of unreality[77], where imagination and belief of the collective gives it its form[78]. It operates in[79] an odd manner as if it is[80] a book/narrative.[81] The residents of the Unknown are semi-aware of their status as fictional beings. As such, the powers they have can interwind fiction with reality.[82] Wielding the metaphysical energies of Unknown grants it's users advanced abilities that warps reality and grant wishes, as well as transform people and things into their desired state.[82]

The plane is beyond the barriers of reality itself, beyond human understanding and is infinite[83]. Due[81] to it being made of imagination, it is almost like a fictional setting by itself. [78] The Observer, an inhabitant of the Unknown, but also special, speaks in "ideas" and "abstractions"[84]. According to Divinity, they can "imagine" even timelines as fiction.[78]

This entire dimension is built on belief - whatever one might believe, it can be reality.[80] This also affects the lower wolds when they are inhabitng it. Whilst on a lower plane, X-O Manowar tried battling an being from the Unknown - Atom-13, but he kept losing. His weapons were no match for it, however, Jamie Capshaw's normal military rifle managed to damage them. Atom-13 noted that she was more of a warrior at the moment, thus her normal attack was able to hurt them.[82]

In order to get to the Unknown, Divinity needed to pierce through many layers of reality itself to reach this place[85]. The inhabitants of the Unknown refers to regular universes as "outside" realities - likely because they are considered more real[86], and these beings existing in these realities contaminates them.[87]

David Camp, a being with near omniscience said, in this place, there is infinite power and knowledge, waiting to be taken.[88]

The Unknown encompasses everything below it, including Ante-Space (place between realities), 5th Dimension, higher dimensional Creators (who created the infinite multiverse[89]) and more.

Tier: 1-A

The Observer

The Observer, who is a resident of the Unknown, albeit more powerful than them, can view all of time and space from this place in the forms of bubbles.[90] He is holding all of time and space together, and without him, it will cease existing.[91][92] All of existence will fall apart without an Observer.[90] He can edit time and remove an obstacle if it proves too fatal for the universe.[93]

In order for an Observer to regain their power, they need to ascend to a higher plane through the bridge. If someone[94] other than the Observer ascends, they get erased from narrative[90]. He is the only one who can survive in it.

Tier: 1-A, higher when ascended to the dimension beyond the portal/higher post-ascension

Beyond the Portal

Beyond the portal in the Unknown lies[22] a higher dimension which can only be accessed from the Bridge. It is a doorway to an even higher dimension which is inaccessible to many, except for the chosen one - the Observer. If someone were to enter it, they will be removed from narrative.[81]

Tier: Higher into 1-A

Unreality

Unreality is the boundary outside reality[95], beyond reality[96], between different planes of reality[97], serving as the backside[96] (canvas/backstage[98]) of everything[99]. It lacks the concept of location[99] (coordinates/space), and is conceptually[100] outside of reality and beyond[101] time and space.

It is not even space to begin with, as Solar sent his other half "into space"[102] while one half remained in unreality.

Tier: High 1-A; Due to it being conceptually beyond and between everything, acting like a canvas, which includes structures like the infinite branching multiverse, it's tiered as such.

The Writers

Elders of the Universe was a term used to described higher-dimensional beings who viewed the entirety of Valiant Entertainment as nothing but fiction. They can create and edit stories of the verse as they wish it. And if things get bad, they can always "reboot" the verse and start over.[103]

Tier: Higher into High 1-A - for being superior to all cosmology, including the Unreality as they wrote the comics and then later rebooted it.
